HOOKSETT — A former New Hampshire corrections officer has pleaded guilty to one count of theft by deception and one count of official oppression.
According to Attorney General John M. Formella, Craig Come falsely claimed to work over 30 overtime shifts at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men on his timecard between January and April of 2020.
This fraudulent activity resulted in a total loss of $14,269.69 in wage, retirement, and benefit payments for the State of New Hampshire.
Come, 35, was sentenced to concurrent sentences of 12 months in the House of Corrections, all deferred for a period of one year.
He was also ordered to pay $14,269.69 in restitution to the State of New Hampshire and complete 250 hours of community service during the deferral period.
Additional conditions of Come’s sentence include surrendering his certification as a correctional officer in the state of New Hampshire and being placed on a national registry of decertified officers.
He is also prohibited from seeking future employment as a law enforcement or correctional officer and will not contest his placement on the State of New Hampshire’s Exculpatory Evidence Schedule.
The investigation and prosecution of this case was carried out by members of the Attorney General’s Office Public Integrity Unit.
