Man arrested after shooting at dog in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Two people were arrested following an incident in Manchester yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a man shooting at a dog in the area of 436 Merrimack Street at around 4:00 p.m.

The caller told police that a man had shot at a dog and was walking toward Hall Street.

Police say they spoke to a witness who stated that the suspect was standing near the passenger side window of an occupied car parked further down Merrimack Street.

As officers approached the suspect, he walked away, ignoring their orders to stop.

Police say the suspect then entered 421 Merrimack Street.

Police set a perimeter around the building and the people inside were asked to come outside.

Given the circumstances, the people inside were asked to come outside, and were detained.

One man was uncooperative and walked away.

After a brief struggle with police, the suspect, identified as Ayden Rainey, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest.

Police say they located another man hiding inside a vacant second-floor apartment.

The man was identified as Curtis Massey.

Police also found a firearm near Massey.

Massey was charged with armed career criminal, falsifying evidence, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest.
