RICHMOND — A 34-year-old man from Barre was arrested for DUI following a crash in Richmond on Sunday.
Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle traveling south on I-89 at a high rate of speed, passing vehicles in the breakdown lane at around 9:20 p.m.
Police say the vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle crash near mile marker 80.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Tyler Waters.
While speaking with Waters, police say they detected several signs of impairment.
Waters was screened for driving under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI.
He was transported to the Williston barracks for processing and released on a citation to appear in court on February 16 to answer the charge.
