NEWPORT — The Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) will return to Newport with its Brass Quintet and Counterpoint Chorus holiday concert.

The show will take place at the United Church of Newport on December 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Conducted by Nathaniel J. Lew, Brass Quintet & Counterpoint concerts are a favorite annual offering of music and cheer, featuring a perfect blend of brass instruments and voices.

Concertgoers experience lush arrangements of holiday favorites such as “Joy to the World” arranged by Robert DeCormier, “Adoration” by Florence Price, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Vince Guaraldi, as well as the premiere of a Vermont Music-COMP student composition by Molly Caffry, and more.

“Eighty-eight years after we were founded, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra is excited to offer this intimate concert in the lovely town of Newport again this holiday season with our brass musicians,” said VSO Executive Director Elise Brunelle. “The VSO always looks forward to reuniting with the Counterpoint Chorus, and with our friends in this wonderful community.”
