RUTLAND — Three people were arrested following an incident in Rutland on Wednesday.
Authorities say they went to a home on a welfare check for a child on Cleveland Avenue.
Police say they found that the scene was not safe for the child, which resulted in the child going to an alternative location for the evening.
On Thursday, police were notified that the child had been exposed to cocaine the night before and was being treated in the hospital.
Authorities then responded to the home to execute a search warrant.
Police say Amy Mollison, 31, of Rutland, was located and taken into custody for cruelty to a child, reckless endangerment, and trafficking of crack cocaine.
Robert Boyd, 35, of Brooklyn, and Thomas Williams, 28, of Albany, were also located inside the home and were taken into custody for trafficking of crack cocaine.
Police conducted an exterior sniff of Mollison’s vehicle which yielded a positive alert.
The vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was also conducted on the vehicle.
The warrant yielded officers seizing more narcotics from Mollison’s vehicle.
During the course of this investigation, police say they seized approximately 525 grams of suspected crack cocaine and thousands of dollars worth of U.S. Currency.
