Juvenile driver doing 100 mph crashes on I-89 in Georgia

GEORGIA — A 17-year-old juvenile was involved in a crash in Georgia on Tuesday.

Police say they were conducting speed enforcement on I-89 south near the rest area at around 10:20 p.m.

They observed a vehicle approaching at a speed above 100 miles-per-hour.

When Trooper Currier pulled out to conduct a motor vehicle stop, the speeding vehicle continued south toward the Georgia exit.

State police followed the vehicle for a short time, at which point the vehicle crashed.

Police identified the driver as a 17-year-old juvenile.

He was checked by EMS at the scene for minor scratches but otherwise was not injured, police say.
