RUTLAND — A 28-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Rutland yesterday.
Authorities say they heard what sounded like a crash in the area of North Main Street and Crescent Street at around 2:40 a.m.
While responding to the area, multiple calls came in, with witnesses stating a vehicle crashed into street signs, a tree, and a porch.
The vehicle fled the scene.
Police say they located the vehicle near Wendy’s on North Main Street.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled.
The vehicle was stopped on Grove Street.
Police say the driver, identified as Cody Rozell, of Rutland, was screened for suspected DUI.
Rozell was taken into custody and processed for DUI.
He was issued a citation for the offenses of DUI, leaving the scene of a crash, and eluding a police officer.
