WATERBURY — A 35-year-old man was arrested for simple assault following an incident in Waterbury yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a man and woman in a vehicle that appeared to be fighting on Waterbury Stowe Road at around 10:00 a.m.
Police say they responded to the area and located the described vehicle as well as Randy J. West, of Waterbury, and Stephanie Shields, 25, of Barre.
Following an investigation, it was found that West had caused pain and fear to Shields.
West was taken into custody and transported to the Stowe Police Department for processing.
He was later issued a criminal citation for the charge and ordered to appear in court and released.
