Organizers say the round-trip ski or snowshoe tour will be interspersed with a discussion of the ecology of the fields and forests of Bluffside Farm and the protection of Lake Memphremagog.

This guided, moderate-paced, two-hour winter tour will include crossing the bridge across Scott’s Cove and conclude with hot refreshments at Prouty Beach.

The event, which coincides with the City Winterfest, is sponsored by MWA, Memphremagog Trails, and the City of Newport.

The guided tour is free and open to the public, however, registration is requested.

In the winter of 2018, Memphremagog Trails started grooming ski trails at the Bluffside Farm, owned and managed by the Vermont Land Trust.

The groomed trails meander through managed forestland and agricultural lands along the shores of Lake Memphremagog.

In 2021, these trails were connected to Prouty Beach and the Newport City trail system via a handsomely constructed and serviceable bridge across Scott’s Cove.
