CHARLOTTE — A 33-year-old man from Burlington is facing multiple charges following an incident in Charlotte yesterday.
Authorities were notified of a vehicle being stolen from a home on Black Willow Lane at around 3:00 p.m.
Police learned someone had entered the home without the privilege to do so and were put on the lookout for the stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was located traveling south on Route 7 in Shelburne, at around 5:15 p.m.
Police initiated a traffic stop at which point the driver of the stolen vehicle eluded at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle operated erratically and in a negligent manner, as it fled the area, police say.
Later in the evening, police located the vehicle back at the home it was stolen from and identified the suspect as Tyler Hines.
Hines was arrested without incident and transported to the Williston barracks for processing.
At the conclusion of processing, Hines was released with a citation to appear in court on February 8 to answer the charges of unlawful trespass of a dwelling, operating without the owner’s consent, attempting to elude, and negligent operation.
