Police arrest man for indecent exposure

NEWPORT — Police arrested a suspect in connection with an incident of indecent exposure that occurred in Newport on Monday. 

Frank Baker, 44, of Newport, has been charged with one count of lewd and indecent conduct.

On Monday, an employee of West Side Deli notified police that at approximately 3 p.m. on the previous day, Baker allegedly entered the store and ordered a sandwich. 

The employee told police that she observed him sit down on a bench in the store, expose his genitals and touch himself repeatedly in a sexual manner. 

Police obtained surveillance video of the suspect and were able to identify him.

Baker was held overnight and subsequently released on a citation. 

He was issued a summons to appear in court on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
