NEWBURY — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Newbury yesterday.
The crash took place on US Route 302 at around 4:25 p.m.
Police identified the drivers as Richard Brooks, 77, of Groton, and Maggie Potwin, 49, of New Hampshire.
Following an investigation, it was found that Brooks was headed West on Route 302, where he failed to maintain his lane and traveled into the oncoming traffic.
Potwin attempted to swerve around Brooks unsuccessfully, before the collision.
Police say both vehicles sustained severe front end damage, and were towed.
Brooks and Potwin were transported to the Cottage Hospital.
