NEWPORT — Vermont State Colleges System (VSCS) Chancellor Jeb Spaulding announced plans to resign from the post after more than five years leading the organization.

Spaulding will formally submit his resignation to the Board of Trustees at a meeting scheduled for tomorrow night.

“It is with a heavy heart, but firm resolve that I submit my resignation as Chancellor of this incredible organization that I have been so privileged to lead,” Spaulding said.

The Board of Trustees will consider the next steps for leadership at a meeting tomorrow.

Plans are under consideration to appoint VSCS General Counsel Sophie Zdatny to lead the Vermont State Colleges System for a short period as interim Chancellor until a longer-term interim Chancellor can be identified and selected.
