NEWPORT — The Newport Farmers Market is hosting its second Garlic Festival this Saturday.
The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In case this is your first time visiting the market, it’s held at Gardner Park on the Causeway, in beautiful downtown Newport.
Did you know that there are more than 450 varieties of garlic? Come out and taste the many different varieties, from mild to super spicy.
Visitors will also enjoy samples of prepared foods, as well as learn about planting and growing from farmers.

It originates from central Asia. Garlic was one of the first herbs to be cultivated, starting about 4000 years ago.
