LYNDONVILLE — Two men are facing charges of human trafficking and sexual assault involving a juvenile in Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury, according to Vermont State Police.
Back in May, police investigators and the Department of Children and Families began a joint investigation into a report of a human trafficking case.
Police say the two men, identified as Harry Williams, 41, and Kenneth Johnson, 58, both of Staten Island, New York, were having sex with the juvenile in exchange for money, drugs, and other items.
Authorities say Williams was arrested and arraigned on Thursday.
When police confronted him, they say he attempted to run. After a short struggle, officials say Williams was taken into custody. He was arraigned on charges of aggravated human trafficking, sexual assault, and resisting arrest.
He is being held without bail.
Johnson was arrested on Friday without incident, police say. He is being charged with aggravated human trafficking and sexual assault.
Authorities say he is being held on $50,000 bail, and due in court on Monday.
