DERBY LINE — SkillsUSA students from North Country Career Center in Newport hosted a prom at Michaud Manor in Derby Line for residents and their families.

This marks the third year that SkillsUSA members have coordinated this mid-winter event, which was the brainchild of a former SkillsUSA student who worked at Michaud Manor.

This year’s theme was “Beach Bash,” complete with palm trees, Hawaiian leis, and a lot of beach songs.

Helping to make the event possible were:

Andy Gray, who worked as DJ.
Kelley Chase-Benway, who worked as event photographer.
Farrant’s Flower Shop, who decorated the corsages in the theme colors for residents.
The NCCC Culinary students and Chef Woodard, who baked “beach” cookies.

Residents look forward to this event each year.
