KINGSBURY — A South Glens Falls woman died Friday following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 4 in the Town of Kingsbury, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy said the fatal accident occurred at 1:02 p.m. on April 26 when a 2016 GMC Sierra crossed into oncoming traffic.
Preliminary investigation determined that the Sierra, driven by Rhonda A. Sexton, 50, of Deweys Bridge Road in Fort Ann, crossed over the center line and struck a 2018 Nissan Rogue.
The Nissan was operated by Keri L. Pike, 48, of Castle Road in South Glens Falls.
Sexton was transported to Glens Falls Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Pike was also taken to Glens Falls Hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.
State Route 4 between Kingsbury Road and Rock City Road was closed for several hours during the investigation.
Sheriff’s Investigators continue to look into all aspects of the accident.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Fort Edward EMS, Fort Ann EMS, the Argyle, Bay Ridge, Fort Ann, and Kingsbury Fire Companies, the Washington County Department of Public Safety, and the New York State Police.
