Wilton man arrested after alleged assault on deputy at Spectrum store

WILTON — A Gansevoort man was arrested Saturday after allegedly assaulting a sheriff’s deputy at a local Spectrum store, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Jonathan S. Bean, 60, faces multiple charges including assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, following the incident at 1 Market Place in Wilton.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call at the store at 10:06 a.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, Bean is accused of causing physical injury to a deputy by kicking them in the groin area.

Bean also allegedly physically resisted deputies who were attempting to take him into custody.

He has been charged with assault in the 2nd degree, obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, and resisting arrest.

Following his arrest, Bean was arraigned before the Honorable Chad Jerome in Wilton Town Court.

He was released to pretrial services pending further court proceedings.
