GLENS FALLS — A local man faces multiple charges including a felony DWI after allegedly crashing his vehicle with two children inside and leaving the scene Tuesday evening.
Kody C. Luckow, 45, was arrested following a single-vehicle collision that occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Cortland Street, according to the Glens Falls Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a collision, but were informed that the vehicle had left the area and the driver might be intoxicated.
An investigation led to Luckow’s arrest on charges including Aggravated DWI With a Child, a class E felony, and several misdemeanors including Driving While Intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities allege Luckow was leaving a children’s sporting event when he struck a curb and a fire hydrant before fleeing the scene.
Police say Luckow had a blood alcohol content of 0.21% while driving with two children under the age of 16 in the vehicle.
Both children sustained minor injuries and were transported by a private party to a local hospital for treatment.
Luckow was held pending arraignment in Warren County CAP Court, where he was released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings in Glens Falls City Court.
