ROME — A 27-year-old Rome woman was charged with multiple offenses after police found her unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle with her infant child in the back seat on Wednesday.

Kiana H. Clark was discovered at the intersection of Oakwood Street and Floyd Avenue around 1:57 p.m. when Rome police, fire department and AmCare responded to a report of an unresponsive female driver.

Officers determined Clark was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

Further investigation revealed four additional children belonging to Clark, ranging in age from 3 to 8 years old, were left unattended at her residence.

All five children were examined by medical personnel and found to be unharmed before being turned over to family members.

Clark faces charges including aggravated DWI, a class E felony; five counts of endangering the welfare of a child; and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

She was transported to Oneida County Jail for centralized arraignment.
