Rhode Island troopers make 3 arrests in separate incidents

LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police arrested three individuals on various charges during separate incidents over a 24-hour period, authorities announced.

On Friday, April 25 at 10:15 a.m., troopers arrested Richard Toles, 48, of East Providence, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 37 East in Warwick.

Toles was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (fentanyl) under 10 grams and was also wanted on an active Sixth District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a suspended license charge.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transferred to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

Later that day at 10:37 p.m., troopers arrested Brian Rivera, 33, of Pawtucket, during a motor vehicle stop on Lonsdale Avenue in Central Falls.

Rivera was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (crack cocaine) under 10 grams.

After processing at Lincoln Woods Barracks, Rivera was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.

In a third incident on Saturday, April 26 at 2:46 a.m., troopers arrested Wender Garcia Perez, 31, of Providence, following a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street in Providence.

Garcia Perez was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs (first offense, BAC unknown) and refusal to submit to a chemical breath test (first offense).

He was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
