CHELSEA — A 20-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday in Chelsea, according to police.
Chelsea Police officers responded to the area of 40 Watts Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. following a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found the male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chelsea Police Detectives and State Police Detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
