WORCESTER — Worcester Police detectives arrested a 21-year-old man on gun charges after executing a search warrant at an apartment on Shelby Street on April 25.
The target of the warrant was identified as Giancarlos Guzman.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., the SWAT team entered the apartment and secured Guzman and his brother, 25-year-old Yadiel Guzman.
Upon entry, SWAT team members observed one of the males throw a fanny pack out of the window.
Members of the Gang Unit and Crime Gun Intelligence Unit found a working firearm inside the fanny pack.
Giancarlos Guzman later admitted that the weapon was his.
Prior to executing the warrant, detectives determined that neither man possessed a license to carry.
Giancarlos Guzman is charged with possession of a firearm without FID, possession of ammunition without FID, improper storage of a firearm with a minor present, and an outstanding warrant.
Yadiel Guzman is charged with an outstanding warrant.
