PENN YAN — A 17-year-old was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening a village resident who had an order of protection against them, according to Penn Yan police.
The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. when police received a complaint that the teen had violated a protection order issued by Yates County Family Court.
Police said the adolescent offender threatened to strike the protected individual, resulting in charges of first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment.
Officers transported the teen to the police department for processing before taking them to Youth Part Court at the Yates County Courthouse.
The teen’s identity was not released due to their age.
