NASHUA — A Massachusetts teenager was arrested after allegedly driving 120 mph in a 55 mph zone on the F.E. Everett Turnpike.
State Trooper Jonathan Janosz observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while conducting enforcement on the turnpike’s southbound lanes at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23.
Using LiDAR technology, Janosz clocked the 2020 Ford Edge at 120 mph, more than double the posted speed limit.
The driver was identified as Derek Nazzaro, 19, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Nazzaro was arrested and charged with reckless operation.
During the traffic stop, authorities discovered Nazzaro displayed a false Massachusetts driver’s license, resulting in an additional charge for violating RSA 263:12, which prohibits such conduct.
Nazzaro was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court at a later date.
