PENN YAN — Penn Yan Police arrested Joshua J. Bianchi, 37, of Rochester on an arrest warrant for grand larceny in the third degree, four counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree, and four counts of forgery in the third degree following a complaint of stolen checks.
An investigation led police to Bianchi, who was working as a contractor at the location where the checks were stolen.
Police found Bianchi later cashed the stolen checks, valued at over $3,100.
Bianchi was taken into custody at the Town of Gates Courthouse, where he was being sentenced on unrelated charges.
He was brought back to Penn Yan, where he was held pending arraignment.
