NORWICH — A Cortland resident was arrested Tuesday on grand larceny charges after allegedly stealing merchandise from a business in the town of Norwich.
Nicholas S. Partis, 38, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a local business for a larceny complaint on April 15 and obtained a license plate number and vehicle description during their investigation.
While deputies were reviewing camera footage, the Village of Oxford Police Department located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
Deputies arrived at the scene in Oxford and identified Partis as the front passenger in the vehicle and the individual seen in security footage pushing a cart full of merchandise past all points of sale.
Partis was arrested and released on an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
