EAST KINGSTON — A South Hampton woman suffered serious injuries after her vehicle collided with a parked truck on South Road Wednesday afternoon.
State Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to the crash at 12:26 p.m. on April 23, taking over the investigation at the request of East Kingston Police Department.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2015 Jeep Patriot driven by Erin Baker, 53, of South Hampton, was traveling southbound when it left its lane, crossed the road and struck the rear of an unoccupied 1994 International 9200 6×4 truck.
Baker sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including East Kingston Police Department, East Kingston Fire Department, Newton Fire Department, and Kensington Police Department.
All aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
