PUTNAM — Detectives with the Putnam Police Department arrested a suspect Wednesday in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier this year on Powhattan Street.
Roland K. McFarlin, 49, of 127 School St., was taken into custody without incident at approximately 1:55 p.m. on April 23.
The arrest follows an extensive investigation into a Jan. 6 assault that left a 44-year-old male victim with significant injuries.
According to police, the stabbing occurred around 3:02 a.m. near 102 Powhattan St.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim conscious and alert despite serious wounds from what authorities described as an edged instrument.
Putnam EMS provided initial treatment before transporting the victim to Day Kimball Hospital for further medical attention.
McFarlin has been charged with assault in the second degree under Connecticut General Statute 53a-60(a)(2).
He is being held on a court-set bond of $50,000 and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on April 24.
