Police search Narragansett beach after concerning social media posts

1 min read

NARRAGANSETT — Narragansett Police Department conducted a search at Scarborough Beach after anonymous posts in a Facebook group dedicated to New England Serial Killers suggested bodies were buried in the area.

The concerning posts, made within the past week, alluded to multiple bodies being buried in the Black Point area of Scarborough Beach.

Only the Facebook group’s administrator could see the actual username of the individual who made the posts.

The anonymous poster later claimed in multiple comments that the posts were “metaphorical and literary work,” stating they were working on a novel and that users were “overanalyzing a work of fiction.”

Despite these claims, Narragansett detectives, assisted by two Rhode Island State Police cadaver K9s, conducted an extensive search of the area at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The search yielded negative results for any clandestine graves.

Narragansett detectives have been in communication with the FBI regarding this matter.
