SANFORD — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Bodwell Street on April 9.
The Sanford Police Department has identified Jonathan Gillis, 23, of Sanford, as a suspect in the ongoing investigation.
A judicially signed arrest warrant has been issued for Gillis on the charge of Aggravated Assault, a Class B felony.
Despite multiple efforts, officers have not been able to locate Gillis, according to police.
Authorities are now turning to the community for assistance in finding the suspect.
Anyone with information on Gillis’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Sanford Regional Communications Center at 207-324-3644, option 1.
Police have released a recent photo of Gillis to aid in identification.
