BEDFORD — A Bronx man was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop in Bedford connected him to an attempted strong-arm robbery of a FedEx driver in Newtown, Connecticut.

David Del Rosario Encarnacion, 36, was taken into custody without incident after a New York State Trooper spotted his 2007 Hyundai traveling southbound on I-684.

The traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle exited I-684 at Exit 6 in the Town of Bedford around 3 p.m.

A BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert had been issued earlier that day to surrounding counties for the vehicle wanted in connection with the attempted robbery.

Encarnacion was transported to SP Somers for further investigation.

Through joint efforts with the Newtown Police Department, investigators confirmed Encarnacion was at the scene of the crime.

During processing, authorities discovered Encarnacion also has an active full-extraditable arrest warrant in Pennsylvania for forgery.

Encarnacion was subsequently remanded to Westchester County Jail.
