CRANSTON — Four suspects were arrested following an armed robbery of two juveniles at Chapel View Plaza, Cranston police announced Tuesday.
On April 14 at approximately 5:34 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery near Cold Stone Creamery at the shopping plaza.
Two victims, ages 14 and 16, told police they were approached by four males who demanded their personal belongings, including designer shoes, a sweatshirt, and jewelry.
During the confrontation, one suspect brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot one of the victims before the group fled in a vehicle later identified as a ride-share.
Cranston detectives identified and arrested four suspects through investigation of social media posts, surveillance video, and eyewitness accounts.
The suspects include Jaemari Lucas, 20, of East Providence; Jonathan Brito, 18, of Providence; Helder Erben Martins, 18, of Woonsocket; and a 15-year-old male from Providence.
Police recovered high-value items including a Spider brand sweatshirt and Balenciaga sneakers, with one suspect reportedly apprehended while wearing the stolen shoes.
All four suspects face charges including two counts of first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Additional victims have since come forward linking the same suspects to other robberies, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from local and state law enforcement agencies.
