14 arrested in Jamestown drug raid, police seize fentanyl and handgun

JAMESTOWN — Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an upper apartment on W 9th Street on April 21 at 2:40 p.m., resulting in multiple arrests and drug seizures.

The Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team assisted in the raid, which followed an investigation into complaints of narcotics sales at the residence.

Upon entry, officers found fourteen people inside the apartment and observed various items being thrown out of a window.

A search of the premises yielded 4.1 grams of cocaine, 2.3 grams of crack cocaine, 28.8 grams of fentanyl, $195 in cash, digital scales, packaging materials, and a handgun.

Luis M. Torres Cortes faces charges including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts), and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the First Degree (two counts).

Jimmy Alvarez Ocasio, Eric Carter, Jesus Lao Santana, and Donald Swanson were each charged with various weapons and drug possession offenses.

Hector Dejesus, who was wanted by the Jamestown Police Department for Petit Larceny, was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree after being found with fentanyl.

Jacob Trippy, wanted by the Ellicott Police Department, was turned over to them at the scene.

Seven other individuals—Shawn Beardsley, Terrence McRae, Shane Davis, Heather Dean, Tammy Bair-Holman, Kaleb Dean, and Mackenzie Kelley—were released from the scene.

The Department of Development condemned the apartment due to its conditions.

The operation involved assistance from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Ellicott Police Department, Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tactical Medics, Jamestown Fire Department, and Department of Development.
