SCHENECTADY — A man in his 20s died Wednesday after being shot during an altercation on Van Vranken Avenue, police said.
Officers responded to 1807 Van Vranken Avenue at approximately 3:24 p.m. on April 23 after receiving reports of a man down with gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
The man was treated at the scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department before being transported to Ellis Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
Investigators are speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
