BOURNE — Officers of the Bourne Police Department were dispatched to the area of Academy Drive and Main Street for a reported motor vehicle crash with injury at approximately 12:47 p.m. Wednesday.
Bourne Fire and Rescue was also dispatched to the scene.
The initial investigation determined a Massachusetts Maritime van had struck a juvenile operating a bicycle in the roadway.
The juvenile suffered suspected minor injury and was transported by Bourne Rescue to a regional trauma center for further evaluation.
The operator of the van was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Motorists should expect delays in the area of Academy Drive and Main Street for the next few hours.
This incident remains under investigation by the Bourne Police Department and the Cape and Islands Law Enforcement Council’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
