HOLYOKE — A 15-year-old male was arrested Friday after Holyoke police officers seized a firearm loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition, according to Police Chief Brian Keenan.
Officer Guillermo Diaz responded to 36 Ely Street around 12:30 p.m. for a gun call.
The victim told police that during an argument, a suspect displayed a firearm in his waistband before leaving the area in a vehicle.
Officers Justo Pagan and Giovanni Abella located the suspect vehicle at 563 South Summer Street, which was parked and occupied.
Officer Pagan detained the driver, who was later released.
Sergeant Dustin Summers and Officer Abella detained the passenger and recovered a firearm with an extended magazine in his waistband.
The firearm contained 28 rounds of ammunition in a 30-round extended magazine.
The suspect was positively identified and placed under arrest.
Due to his age, the juvenile’s name and charges will not be released.
