WORCESTER — Two men were arrested on drug distribution charges after police observed a suspected drug transaction in a parking lot on Main Street, according to Worcester Police.
On April 23, just before noon, officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team spotted the transaction taking place in a vehicle parked outside a Main Street business.
Officers removed Jose Salvador-Santana, 28, from the passenger side of the vehicle, where they discovered a digital scale covered in a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Police also found a bottle containing 25 pills believed to be Oxycontin and a large sum of cash on the passenger’s side.
Wilson Salas-Reyes, 26, and a woman were also removed from the vehicle.
On the driver’s side where Salas-Reyes had been seated, officers found four pills believed to be Oxycodone, a large amount of cash, and a double-bladed knife.
During a search of Salvador-Santana, police found an Oxycontin pill in his pocket.
Salas-Reyes was found with a knotted baggie containing a white powdery substance suspected to be fentanyl.
Officers discovered a stolen license plate in the trunk of the vehicle, which was registered to Salvador-Santana.
Both men were arrested while the female was released.
Salas-Reyes, of Worcester, faces charges of possession with intent to distribute Class A, Class B, and Class D drugs, carrying a dangerous weapon, and trespass.
Salvador-Santana, of New York, is charged with possession to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class B substance, receiving stolen property, and trespass.
