SMITHFIELD — Rhode Island State Police arrested two Providence men in separate incidents following traffic stops on Route 295 Thursday afternoon.
At 12:10 p.m., troopers arrested Luis Aracena Battle, 30, of 1039 Broad Street, on an active Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference.
The warrant stemmed from a charge of driving with an expired license or without a license, originally filed by the North Providence Police Department.
Battle was processed at State Police Headquarters and transported to Kent County Superior Court.
Five minutes later, at 12:15 p.m., troopers arrested Bryant Troche, 28, of 6 Huber Avenue, during a separate traffic stop on Route 295 in Cumberland.
Troche was charged with domestic violence – violation of no contact order, first offense.
He was processed at State Police Headquarters and later transported to the ACI – Men’s Intake, where he was held as a bail violator pending morning arraignment at Third District Court.
