WILTON — A Saratoga Springs man was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Lowe’s store where he had previously been banned, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher R. Nichols, 33, was charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Deputies responded to an inactive larceny call at the Wilton Lowe’s at 2:20 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said Nichols is accused of knowingly entering and remaining unlawfully in the building with intent to commit a crime and stealing merchandise from the store.

Nichols had previously been banned from the business, authorities said.

He was arraigned before Judge Chad Jerome in Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
