Utica man arrested in New York Mills sexual assault case

NEW YORK MILLS — A Utica man was arrested following a sexual assault investigation, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

Feroz C. Khan, 40, was charged with third-degree rape, a class E felony, on April 22.

The investigation began on April 12 at 3:04 p.m. when Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Wynn Hospital in Utica regarding a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the Village of New York Mills.

Deputies were informed that a male had engaged in vaginal contact with another person without their consent.

The case was subsequently turned over to members of the Criminal Investigations Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.

Khan was processed at the Kurt B. Wynman Law Enforcement Building and is currently being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility awaiting Centralized Arraignment.

The victim, an adult whose name is being withheld, received assistance from the YWCA throughout the investigation and is currently being provided resources.
