TOWN OF UNION — The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to check security cameras and outbuildings as they continue searching for a missing Endicott man who disappeared Saturday evening.
Joseph Maine, 48, reportedly left his house on foot on April 19 and never returned home.
Maine was last seen around 8:38 p.m. on April 19 at 700 North McKinley Ave. in the Town of Union.
Over the past two days, the Sheriff’s Office has conducted grid searches of the surrounding neighborhood, including the Brixius Creek/Pond area utilizing personnel, UAV aerial drones and the Marine Unit.
Authorities have not found evidence of Maine’s whereabouts as they attempt to locate him, ensure his safety, and reconnect him with his family.
Maine is reportedly diabetic and may not have taken his medication recently, potentially causing confused behavior.
He is described as a white male, standing 6’0″ and weighing approximately 167 lbs.
Maine was last seen wearing a light grey sweatshirt, dark grey sweatpants, a black baseball cap with a fishhook hanging from it, and black sneakers with “FUBU” in red lettering.
Neighbors within a mile radius of 700 North McKinley Ave are asked to check Ring doorbell cameras and security cameras for any evidence of Maine walking through their property.
Residents are also urged to check sheds, garages or ancillary buildings where Maine might have taken shelter.
Anyone with tips, video footage, sightings, or information is asked to contact the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (607) 778-1196 and reference Case #25-10146.
