POUGHKEEPSIE — Two individuals were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Taft Avenue on April 19.
State Police of Wappinger arrested Andrew D. Madarish, 31, of Staatsburg, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
Alicia L. Lickteig, 40, of Wappinger Falls, was also arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance/narcotic, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree.
According to authorities, the arrests stemmed from a traffic stop after troopers observed a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado committing a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Madarish was identified as the driver and Lickteig as the passenger.
Further investigation revealed Lickteig to be in possession of felony-weight narcotics.
Madarish was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Poughkeepsie Court on May 3 at 9 a.m.
Lickteig was released under the supervision of probation and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on May 5 at 9 a.m.
