BINGHAMTON — Law enforcement officials seized approximately 14 ounces of fentanyl during a search warrant execution at a Tracy Street residence Tuesday.
Members of the Vestal Police Department Narcotics Unit, New York State Police Troop C Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team, State Police Community Stabilization Unit and Johnson City Police Department conducted the raid at 6 Tracy Street in Binghamton at 9 a.m.
The search warrant was the culmination of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of suspected fentanyl by the occupant of the residence, according to police.
During the search of the residence and vehicle, officers discovered and seized a metal press, packaging material and a digital scale in addition to the fentanyl.
Keith Lawrence, 48, of Binghamton, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, a class A-I felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, class A misdemeanors.
Lawrence was transported to Broome County CAP for arraignment.
