TUXEDO — A New Jersey man faces multiple felony charges after New York State Police discovered various drugs during a traffic stop on Interstate 87 Friday night.
Javon M. Alleyne, 30, of Irving, N.J., was arrested after troopers seized approximately 45 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of Xanax, and a quantity of Suboxone films from his vehicle.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:58 p.m. when a trooper from SP Newburgh stopped Alleyne’s 2020 Honda Civic for traffic violations while traveling northbound in the Town of Tuxedo.
During the stop, troopers developed probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the controlled substances.
Alleyne was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, both Class B felonies, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Class A misdemeanors, and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Following his arraignment in the Town of Woodbury Court, Alleyne was remanded to the Orange County Jail.
