LAWRENCE — State Police arrested a North Lawrence woman on multiple counts of animal cruelty after seven dogs were found abandoned in a residence.
Krysta D. Labarr, 36, was charged with seven counts of animal cruelty for allegedly torturing or injuring animals and failing to provide adequate sustenance.
Troopers responded to a complaint at a Brooklyn Road home in the town of Lawrence at approximately 4:09 p.m. on April 15.
During their investigation, authorities discovered two adult dogs and five puppies abandoned inside the residence.
The animals were determined to be owned by Labarr.
After her arrest, Labarr was transported to SP Massena for processing and later released on an appearance ticket.
She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lawrence Court in June.
