SARATOGA COUNTY — The Sheriff’s Office announced several arrests Tuesday culminating an investigation into prison contraband at the Saratoga County Jail that occurred on April 10.
Harold P. Miller III, 33, of Albany, was charged with promoting prison contraband in the 1st degree and conspiracy in the 4th degree.
He is accused of knowingly and unlawfully obtaining or possessing dangerous contraband while confined in a detention facility and of agreeing with one or more persons to engage in conduct constituting a class B or C felony.
Michael V. Ellsworth, 40, of Mechanicville, was charged with conspiracy in the 4th degree.
Crystal R. Ellsworth, 44, of Watervliet, was also charged with conspiracy in the 4th degree.
Malayasia E. Hudson, 30, of Troy, was previously charged with promoting prison contraband in the 1st degree.
An additional charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree was filed against her.
It is alleged that while confined to the Saratoga County Jail, Miller and Michael Ellsworth conspired with Crystal Ellsworth, who was not incarcerated, to smuggle suboxone into the facility.
Hudson was charged with transferring the substance to Miller during a visitation day.
Miller and Michael Ellsworth were arraigned before the Honorable Steven L. Brown in the Milton Town Court and remanded back to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
Crystal Ellsworth was arraigned before the Honorable Timothy R. Brown in the Milton Town Court and released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
Hudson will be arraigned on the new charge at her next appearance in the Milton Town Court.
