SYRACUSE — Syracuse Police officers arrested a man with active felony warrants who was found in possession of a loaded handgun, knives, and fentanyl on Saturday, April 19, at about 3:15 p.m.

Officers were handling a follow-up to a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of Wolf Street when they were alerted about a male nearby who had active felony warrants.

When officers attempted to place the wanted person into custody, he resisted arrest.

As two knives were visible in his waistband, the officers placed the male on the ground where he continued to resist and refused to place his hands behind his back.

The suspect reached for his waistband, prompting officers to deliver several tactical strikes and verbal commands.

Officers eventually placed the suspect into handcuffs, and when lifting him off the ground, a loaded handgun fell from his body to the ground, where it was secured by one of the officers.

The suspect, identified as Kyle Williams, 33, was found in possession of a loaded Bryco Arms, model 38, semi-automatic handgun, one 11-inch knife, one 4-inch knife, and 6.4 grams of a white powdery substance that tested positive for fentanyl.

Williams was charged with the outstanding warrants for Assault 2nd, Menacing 2nd, and Harassment from prior incidents.

For Saturday’s incident, Williams was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Resisting Arrest.
