GREENFIELD — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local woman Saturday on charges of attempted identity theft in the first degree, a class E felony.
Authorities took the woman into custody on an arrest warrant issued by the Wilton Town Court.
The charges stem from an incident reported on December 6, 2023, in the town of Greenfield.
Officials say the woman is accused of using another person’s social security number to attempt to secure a $40,000 loan without their permission.
She was released on an appearance ticket pending further proceedings in the Greenfield Town Court at the direction of the Honorable David R. Towne of the Wilton Town Court.
