EDMESTON — A 34-year-old Edmeston man was arrested Friday after allegedly displaying a forged registration plate and refusing to comply with deputies during a traffic stop.
Kyle J. Packer faces multiple charges including second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Packer initially refused to comply with their orders during the April 18 traffic stop in the Town of Edmeston.
Upon investigation, authorities discovered Packer had a suspended New York State driver’s license, resulting in a charge of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
He also faces numerous vehicle and traffic violations including unlicensed operation, failure to comply with lawful order, improper plates, no/only one registration plate, uninspected motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, improper windshield, operating without insurance, no registration sticker, and disobeying a traffic control device.
Packer was issued tickets and an appearance ticket for Edmeston Town Court, where he is scheduled to appear at a later date.
